250w Phoenix on E-Ballast almost same as a Radium on HQI??

Wow, totally sorry shellburn. It didnt hit me until later yesterday what you where saying, and yes, I absolutely confused the initial graph (shielded/reflecter), and your subsequent posts. I apologize for throwing the thread off Horace

Are you comparing this to the phoenix on HQI or electronic? I hear the phx brings out colors much better on electronic ballasts but sort of washes things out on hqi.

Im curious to know this as well. Im also curious if folks running the Radiums typically run actinics as well? My guess is they dont, which is why I am thinking Phoenix+Actinic might be a pretty fine mix.

Sorry, I should have said on HQI. It was washed out completely. I was really unhappy with them. I ran them on the outsides of the tank for about 3 months, then switched to all radiums.

I do not run any supplemental lighting. There is no need to if you go with the Radiums or the 20k XM's for that matter.

There is a need if you want to run dusk/dawn. Not many people like to run thier halides for 12 hrs a day either. I enjoy having my tank lit for atleast 12 hours a day. I dont think it would be wise to run halides for 12hrs/day. Not only would it likely be too much light, it would raise your power bill ALOT.

Agreed, but I only run mine for 7 hours a day.

Yeah, I need to get more viewing time from my tank to justify all the work :). I like it viewable as much as possible hehe. Mine is lit from about 11am - 11pm.
