270 gallon tank for sell

just frogs for now...i still have a my reef tank up at my sisters house...but i honestly havent done a thing basides water changes/feeding....i got a little burnt out on it

i love my frogs though...so easy to maintain compared to the reef...unfortunately though....the leucs i got from you a while back "suddenly" stopped eating...week after week one would die...i still have my azureus though...i fed all the frogs the same, so i wonder if it had something to do with the tank they were in, and i never got the chance to get fecals done

im definitely interested in the luec...not so much with the black aratus so they all yours rcmike if angela decides to sell...do u have a picture of the luec angela? i know u said he's skinny, but is he still eating?...i have an empty terrarium thats just waiting for frogs, weather just been too cold to ship

Good to hear from you, seems like it has been ages. Sorry to hear life has dealt you some hard blows as of late but sounds like you're taking it all in stride. If I can do anything to help let me know.

Hate to be a vulture swooping down on fresh offerings, but if you do end up with any 400 W lighting items you are looking to get rid of let me know. I'm still thinking about the poison arrow frogs we spoke about last time you were out our way and if you're looking to get rid of a small "entry level" setup it might be time to get more serious. Good luck with everything.

Thanks for the well wishes and it feels good to be back online chatting again. Honestly the dart frogs are super easy and real neat. They just don't up and die when you accidently leave the RO on all night and drop the SG way to low...not that I have done that a few times or 3....
After watching about 5 tivoed episodes of animal hoarders I can see me being like them if you let life get you down. Most of them seem to have started hoarding after a hard knock in life so they turned to there animals. Kinda scary how the human sikee (sp?) can get so easily messed up if you let it. Its all good and me and the girls will be better off in the end after the dust settles. But if you guys notice me saying I want all your abandoned pets in the future someone call my therapist! :) I have watched all the animal cops and hoarders I think I will ever want to see and I have 2 more days of bedrest. I take back all the wishes of wanting to get to lay in bed all day and watch TV now that I have had no choice for 2 days! Its funny how you think you want something untill you get it.

I will Pm you about the 2 black frogs but they hide all the time so thats no fun....and John unless you are moved away from the buro I can just bring the frog to you. You can just have it since I think the others are bullying it is why its so little. It has never stopped eating its just on the smallish side.

If so let me know...I have always been curious about setting up a frog setup and I remember what you did was awesome plus maybe it should make it full circle...anyways..my wife loves your house too! we bought a house last year....but yours is awesome!! I'm sure it will sell

Yes it is a strong statement and I feel secure the novelty of the younger replacement modle will wear off one day but the last straw was cast and the damage is done. It was really a blessing in disguse for me as a way out of a bad situation biblically but thats enouph on that. Just glad to be back in the land of the living reconecting with old freinds and looking foward to making new ones. It really feels good to see old freinds still on here tinkering away with there hobbies. I am keeping about 100 lbs of real pretty dry rock from a tank my freind crashed so I will cook it and have it ready to set up a MUCH smaller tank when I get settled into a new place. It may be awhile but I can't see myself without a cute pair of clowns forever.

Yes casey I did convert your old tank to frogs and it is a very nice size for frogs. I plan on keeping it. I do have another 40 tall on a standard black stand with black top that would make a nice frog tank. It is set up as FW now and has some water stains that I can't get off that don't show with water but do show when dry. But it would be a good starter tank to practice your terrarium building on. Someone can have the whole set up for $50 if you want Tank, stand, and top. I will upload a pic if you want. I also have a 20 long exoterra type tank with a hinged screen top with a crack. Its in a location where it will be covered over with the foam and it will hold water for the pond area since the crack is up high. I gave someone $10 for it so $10 takes it. RCmike you may want it since you fool with other things like lizzards. It is designed more for a dry enviroment since it has the screen top and frogs need a more enclosed top for humidity but if you put a canopy on it or a glass top it would work. I have lots of the stuff to make the tank and can make it for someone if they want for cost of materials but the fun part is designing the tank in your own vision.

There are some frog breeders in East Tn I know who can get you frogs way way cheaper than retail at local pet store prices and you know the history of the frog. Lucs are arounf $25 and Azuras around $65 if you need me to bring you some back when your tanks are ready. The frogs are very easy keepers. I will be in East Tn alot this summer I bet.

John, Sorry about the mix up on location. yes, you can come by any time or I can just meet you 1/2 way. 4346 Ambergate court Franklin 37064. Yes mine started laying eggs like crazy. I failed at raising them many times since they are a little tricky. Bad news was my top got bummped loose and the parents got out and parished but left me one last clutch of 4 eggs and I had 1 tad from a previouse clutch and had one make it from that clutch so I have 2 healthy adults again. They are about a year old now I guess but are both female I think looking at there toe pads. Maybe we could swap out some and get at least one mated pair or you could house my 2 to see if any of them pair up. Yours must all be one sex because mine were laying eggs like crazy before they escaped and dried up :(. How many do you have and are there toe pads kinda big or little? You can take it to PM if you want.
 
I have 4 Azureus ... 3 in one tank and 1 by itself cause it was getting picked on and is skinny.... The 3 healthy one kinda has medium toes... I looked online and people said u can mostly tell by toepads but it isn't always the case... They said to judge by the body type...I'm thinking I have 2 males and a female cause I haven't seen any fighting going on... And maybe the one in the tank by itself could be a female cause it was picked on

If the frogs hide all the time I may pass then. We already have a couple of mantellas that you only see if you lift up the piece of wood they hide under. I have to check every once and a while to see if they are still alive. I am really looking for something that is out and about some. Thanks for the offer on the tank, I actually have a few sitting around already though. I may wait a while on setting up a frog tank though. Just got a Meller's chameleon yesterday and my son's Nanocube will be here today. :hmm3:
 
Yea the only time I see the blackones are if I happen to sneak up on them or lift the hut the live under....My blue azuras are always out front and center.
 
Angela so sorry to hear the news. Im sure everything will work out. I have been down that road too. Will the 40 hold water. Thinking about geting a small tank. Since I have nothing.
 
Yes the 40 is actually holding water right now set up as a FW in my daughters room. It has a small chip and the water stains that don't really show with water in it but holds water fine. Do you not have any frogs either? Those 2 black frogs came from you if you want them back just let me know.
 
Nothing right now. No I can't do frogs right now have 10 month old daughter now and another son on the way. If you want to sell the 40 let me know and how much
 
Angela! Good to see you alive and here! it has been a long long while. Hate to hear you are selling the tank. hopefully you will land on your feet again and get back into reefkeeping.

Keep off that Knee. once you can get on it, get good rehab. that is the best you can do. been there, done that.

While I'll say it's great to "see" you on here I hate to hear about the turn life has taken. Sounds like it's for the better though and you got 3 beautiful girls out of the deal! Good luck with your knee. I have one I need to get fixed and keep putting it off. Good luck tearing the tank down, selling the house and getting rid of everything as well. If you ever do setup a tank you know where you can get some frags;) You are the only person I know who has left the key to their house under the mat or me and told me to take whatever frags I want:lol:

Angela I have always admired your infectious personality and genuine kindness. I guess God has bigger and better plans for you. I hope the next chapter leads you to a place where you can be truly happy and satisfied with life. If you need anything just send me a PM.

Angela if u need me to house ANY of your frogs While you get everything else taken care of....let me know I have plenty of room and can take care of them however long u need.. And whenever u get settled into your new place the frogs can go home.
 
Thanks for the kind words Guys! I have always found much enjoyment in giving but the well just eventually dried up. It's actually a good thing for the girls and me and life will only be better in the long run. My daugters are such a joy and blessing and I will have my hands pretty full keeping up with them. They all seem to have my love of animals which I am glad.

Yes staying off my feet yesterday made a huge difference in my knee and it feels great today. I am definetly getting threapy since that is what my degree is in and hopefully I can get my knee...I mean "foot" in the door with a clinic and at least meet a few local PT's. Its pretty scarry being out of the work force 12 years and I retired my licence about 6 months after getting it so I basically have been out of college 12 years with no experience looking for a job in healthcare! I figure I will have to go in at an aid's salery and build my experience up before I will can be concidered for an Assistan's position. At least my youngest will be in school this fall so that will be easier.

Jonh just taking the one tank down but if you want to take my 2 azuras and see if the will pair up with one of yours thats fine we can swap them back out if not right away.
