275g Tank (375g system) from CGI to real life ambition

Scott, actually I didn't coated it and as I'm googling around it seems it does corrode, can you recommend a product to coat the cage? Thank you.

KMU, thanks for the kind compliment :)

Juan, I have not had to coat an aluminum structure for any of my tanks, but if it was mine I would powder coat it. This type of finish is extremely strong albeit pricier because you need to have it professionally done, and you can pick just about any color you like.

Yes you could get away with coating it with a cheaper spray pain out of a can but with as much time and money you are investing in such a beautiful setup, spend the extra time and money and do it right.

Super Slick, HI TECH, and VERY WELL DESIGNED,, how long were you in the conceptual stage

Trademark, thank you for the kind words, more or less three weeks in the conceptual stage, of course, many things were changed/added/removed within the software during the construction process, mostly when I encountered a problem not seen on the sketch ups.

The 3d tool helped me reduced the amount of trial and error when and during the building process.

Juan, great job.

I see that the glass is half inch and the tank is not even eurobraced...you are a brave man. :-)

SPS_77493, thank you for the kind compliments, I'm brave but not THAT brave, LOL, I will first build my aquascape, place it in the tank and then my LFS will place in the back to front bracing, this is because with them in the middle there was to little space to place in the rock.

Thank you nuccadoc, I will study this possibility, I hope that this option even exists in my country, if so I will try to do it, I will call the company that sold me the aluminum tomorrow.

good work. .. must have took a while to complete

Thank you, yes, quite a bit, maybe the most complicated part was actually choosing the right equipment, but at the end, it has been quite an exciting journey.

Very very nice! The cabinet is beautiful Ill enjoy seeing this progress!

Thank you all, for the kind words.

Tomorrow (having a holiday here) I hope to advance on the rockscaping, and maybe some other advancement on the tank.

Auem, I really do hope I don't stress the fish because of this also, thanks for your concern. :)
Well, here a couple of updates, first, to show you some of the canopy Function as I think I didn't post pictures before.

Open Top:

To hold the structure opened, I installed an automobile hood rod which serves its purpose:

And, it works almost the same as in a car when putting the rod out:

Also, here is an image of the lower compartment, used for daily simple tasks (Feeding, front glass cleaning, etc):

And the fully opened canopy:

RockScaping

RockScaping

------ RockScaping ------

After several tries and different methods, I think I have finally landed on the rockscape I wanted:

I used electric tubing for the inner skeleton, I liked this tubing better for a couple of reasons, first it's thinner than regular water PVC and secondly it's gray, which can be harder to spot with a black background, still I will cover most of the spots where the tubing is shown using Putty:

And the final result:

Now, the challenging part will be to put this rocks inside the tank in the same exact design, I will identify each rock with a pencil so I can rebuild it without any problems.
