Okay...So Im wanting to do another seahorse tank but want to make it simple. Im wanting to keep 4 H. barbouri from seahorsesource. Wanting to do some more colorful fake plants and some tonga branching rock. Along with some sand. Was thinking about doing a over rated HoB filter that I would just make sure to keep it clean. Question being any good HoB filter that are recommended? Wasnt going to run a skimmer just going to keep up on weekly water changes. This sound good? Thanks

Why four when the tank is rated for just one pair?
If you use a HOB filter you will probably have to clean it out twice a week with four seahorses in a 29g plus more frequent and larger water changes.
A skimmer is almost a must under those conditions.

I was just going off what Dan had on the site...20 gallon for a pair then 25-30 for two pairs. And I mean I can do a skimmer just didnt want to build a sump for a small tank. Is there a really good HoB skimmer? I only ask because Im us to using large in sump skimmers. This is just me brain storming a new set up, and wanting to do it right. My kuda in the 75 are doing great so I thought I would expand to other species. :)

I would stick with a pr as well i have a pr of erectus in a 29 right now with hob skimmer and hob filter . if you do not plan on a skimmer i would suggest a large hob with bio-wheels . and like rayjay said more water changes . my skimmer pulls a lot of crude from my tank
