I would definantly go with a 150 mh if your doing sps. Do you think the sunpod would fit over this tank? That would be my choice for a light for this tank.

Could the light in the link that Rivenjim actually be used in a Biocube or Aquapod hood to keep the stock appearance without any heat trouble. I have added an extra fan to my pod already so maybe this would work?

I have the same question can it be fitted into the stock hood? This is a big thing for me.

If that MH fixture goes in a hood its gonna raise temps.

i wouldnt do it unless you want the hood to melt. besides MH should not be that close to the surface and another fan will not help. just build a small canopy out of plywood and mod a fan in there and your good.

I agree. The plastic hood is going to melt if you mount a halide in there no matter how many or what fans you use. Making something out of wood or aluminum would work better. The aluminum also serves as a heat sink as well.

Arnt they doing a ton of pc lighting mods for this system. I know you dont get the shimmer of halides but enuf watts of pc will grow alot too.

use the JBJ viper. just take off your current hood and add it open hooded. just be prepared to top off.

Nanocustoms is offering mh in the lid for tanks now. Seems with the right equipment it would work. They even have a dual 70w mh with pc supplement.
