It started three weeks ago when I came back from my holiday. Or actually even before that, because right before we left my 2.5-year old son twisted the cord of my wavebox away from the plug. Okay, so I decided, that I could order new controller after the holiday.
When I came back from the holiday, I saw that both of my turbelle streams were stopped. They are connected into multicontroller. Multicontroller was showing some lights, but when I pushed the buttons it did not respond and the lights went on and off without any sense. Then the lights dimmed and finally there werent any lights!
I thought that the multicontroller was broke so I connected the streams without the controller. It did not fix the problem -they were still standing still. When I unplugged the streams and started investigating the problem, I noticed that both of the transformers were very hot and their shape was not normal. They were not too badly melted, but however, the shape was not as it used to be.
I removed the pumps, opened them, cleaned very well and soaked in vinegar+water. And I ordered new transformers and new wavecontroller from Tunze. Now that I received the spareparts today, the pumps are still not working!
No matter what device I try to connect, nothing happens. Only thing that works is the multicontroller -it is showing lights and responding to buttons. But anything that I try to connect into it doesnt work. I also tried to run the streams without multicontroller, but they didnt work. Neither does the wavebox, although I bought new wavebox controller.
The silvery boxer get very hot when I connect the pump. This happens with both of the streams and the wavebox. From one silver box I also hear "sizzling" sound when I connect it to the mains.
I do not dare to keep them plugged for more than 30 sec because the silver boxes get so hot!
What is wrong? How can I fix this?
I am so desperate here, because my anemone and corals are slowly dieing and this is such a catastrophy!
Wavebox is about one year old, of which it has been used for 5 months. Streams are less than 2 years old, of which they have been used for one year.
Can anyone help me? Has this happened to anyone else?
(Ps.I opened one of the silvery boxes, but all seems to be okay in there. Nothing has melted down not is black etc etc)
Thanks for your help arleady!
