2x Bandit angel question

I have introduced the second Bandit to my DT and he was in an acclimation box for a little while, no signs of aggression between the two, so I released him. The new one is about a 0.5" larger then the first one. After being released, the new one often swims at the old one and he has to swim away. When I feed the tank, their is no issues, but when their is no food around, the first bandit is often just being scared. Neither have any marks or torn fins. What should I do? Leave them together, separate one and get rid of him? Any other suggestions?

Give it some time, they need to get used to each other. If you observe an increased level of aggression, with any injuries to either fish, use egg crate to separate the two of them. When I paired my current Bandits, there was more of a size difference. I have a 4.25" and a 2.5". There was minimal aggression. They tolerate each other but are obviously not a true pair. My previous pair was 4" and 2.25" and they got along right from introduction. Good luck.

If there aren't any marks or torn fins I would give it more time like suggested above. The fact that one seems to be taking a submissive role is a good sign

Thank you guys, I will wait a little longer and see what happens. Sorry Allmost, maybe you wont be getting a Bandit from me.

I agree with the others too bud. I'd consider it a very good thing if you introduced a new bandit to an established one and it's eating without any nips, marks or aggression from the established one.

Thanks bud, it's my first time trying to pair any fish other than clowns and I got a little nervous
