2x MP40 WES in a 75 Gallon

FlyPenFly

SPS Killer
Any suggestions on settings?

SPS is central high placement in a 4' long 75 tank. It's 20" high and 18" deep.

Several clams are on the sand floor, there are some trachy's and other brain corals on ledges a few inches above and on the top shelf is SPS.

I was going to mount the MP40's higher, one side closer to the back, one side closer to the front. I was going to run it on reefcrest but I'm not sure what power setting I should use, suggestions?

I've been running MP10's in reefcrest at 75% power in this configuration but I'd like to get wider flow hence the upgrade.

I have 2 mp40 in my 65g, facing towards each other across the long way of the tank. I run in echo smart mode at about 75% - never any issues. Echosmart mode seems to switch from steady flow to wave maker throughout the day, then low flow at night - I just set it and forget it. I don't run higher because the motors are too noisy for my living room.

I run mine 5" down from water line to pump center, 9-10" back from the front glass, at roughly 60% power, Random ReefCrest.

Rockwork will obviously make a difference.

Totally depends on your scape. What is directly in front of your MP40s will decide for you.

As long as you are not blowing off flesh your SPS will be fine. Probably best to start off at a lower 40 - 50% range to start. Maybe ramp them up a little at a time over some months. Eventually you should be able to run them at 100% without a problem. Your SPS will probably like it, especially when they grow in blocking some flow.

Mine are about 4-5" from the surface, pointing towards each other, about 8" from the back wall. I use Reef Crest mostly, but sometimes change to tidal swell mode, or NTM. I keep them set at 80-85%

Yah all about the scape. I used to have my pointed at each other but my rock work didn't really allow it so they are off centered about 2-4" inches. I run them on yellow mode (I think it's reef crest) at max, and I also I run an mp10 on the back wall going forward.

They will get used to the current and be fine. Think of how hard the ocean moves. A little pump in a tank has nothing on that

In my 75, I have mine in the center of each side, about 5" down from the surface. Both are on 75% reefcrest mode. SPS are loving it.
