3 gal picotope.

InLimbo87 - Im using a 50 watt visitherm stealth heater and my temps are incredibly stable for such a small tank. 95% of the time my tank is in the 77F-78F. Ever once and awhile it will hit 79F. It doesn't even matter if i leave my windows open at night or if i leave the windows closed during the day, It's always at those temps.

reefman12 - So far, I have spent about $200 on the setup alone =(.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Did a water test this morning and the results where....

Salifert test kits -
Ammonia - 0
Nitrate - 0
Nitrite- 0
PH - 8.4 during the day 8.2 during the night.
Temps are a stable 77.9f - 78.8f day or night.

Looks better each time you post new pics! Keep us posted on the sps frags. I was thinking of trying a few in my tank.

Hey man Awseome tank i'm new to the forum so i don't have pics of mine but i would love to share them as soon as i get up and running completely. 12 gallon nano cube and i love it. Trev.

So far...
2) ceriths
2) hermits
2) Rics
3) shrooms
4) colony of zoas
2) colonies of button polyps
1) montipora digitata
1) Montipora Cap
1) 3 headed trumpet coral
And my tank center piece, A bright green Alveopora. < my fav :D.

I originally wanted a Clown goby, but I feel in a tank this small packed full of corals, i would not want to compromise the water quality. I'm thinking about maybe 1 peppermint shrimp but i dunno yet.

I lost one of the first Cerith snails I bought so it kinda bummed me out ( I know its just 1 snail but still bummed me out :( )

Water test came out -
PH - 8.3 - 8.4
Nitrate - 0
Nitrite - 0
Ammonia - 0

Soon as i get my calcium/alk test kits, I will start dosing some Kent marine 2 part that i had left over from the old tanks.

I know this post was kinda pointless but i couldn't help it :D. Tomorrow ill post the pics.

I am getting the itch to start one myself and getting tons of ideas for my own little tank!

I had a hermit missing for some time. While i was cleaning my tank i find this...

No shell!?

The other hermit was on top of he's shell so i decided to help the little guy and move he's shell closer to him. Sure enough he gets and and starts to make a break for it then the other hermit starts to chase him!. And this is the end result...

RIP mr hermit crab :(

Nice tank, but its filling up fast :)

get a hand full of empty snail shells and put them behind your rock work, that way the hermits have shells to choose from, and not fight over.

Good Luck!

haha yeah its filling up quickly but it still has room to grow in. But i really don't buy a 3 gallon fish tank because of the real estate. ;) Oh and come to find out both my hermits are still alive. I guess I fell for the ol molt trick.
