Hi there, I was just wondering why it is so hard to keep hard corals in a 3 gal tank? and people say that it is easy for a chemical balance problem.......?

is hard because water volume is too little, any changes with your water parameter will discomfort corals.

like k2yu said not enough water volume anything you do to the tank will instantly kill them if not careful. 3 gallons is not stable enough.

Doing anything, not just as related to aquariums, on a very small scale is inherently more difficult. The margin for error is smaller.

you should think about adding a 20gal sump to your 3gal tank
