I have this fixture for sale, no longer need it anymore. It puts out 430 total watts, and is compact at just 30" long. It originally came from Catalina Aquatics. It is a monster reef, that I had them custom make in this configuration. It can be hung by using the U grooves on top and a $5 hanging kit. All of the bulbs are 2 months old, and I have new PC's if you want them too. The MH bulbs are HQI and 20k. The MH ballast is included, it is the magnetic type I believe.
I would like to get $250 out of it, or trade for Reefkeeper stuff or complete system.

NICE LOOKING LIGHT!!!! that is Killer looking... would make an awesome frag tank light.

are you sure you didnt just take that thing out of the box? it is SUPER clean.

Thanks, I have to admit the extruded aluminum does stand tall. Just wipe it down every once in a while and it looks great. I was going to hang on to this to do a frag tank, but decided 1 tank is enough for now.

OK I'm willing to let it go for 200$. If it doesn't sell I'm going to set up a frag tank with it.

Any Takers?

30"verse 36"

30"verse 36"

man if this was 36in id be all over for my 40 breeder.

Your talking 3" on each side, You can get sufficient light with this fixture. I think Sanjay said that the shorter light gives the ends a little lower par that way for Corals that can use less light. JMO

3" each side! I would thing that is negligable. I would not hesitate to use this on a 36" tank. with that much light, I would think you would keep anytying you wished.

The legs span longer than the fixture, if you move the legs all the way out they span 36" on center. You could move them a little more and make it span 36 to the inside of the feet.

Ok, I just re-read your post and now I understand what you mean by 3", DUH.
If you measure outward from the center of each halide bulb 12" you wind up with 36" of total Halide light coverage, with 3" beyond the outside of the fixture and 6" of overlap in the middle. Bulb center to center is just 12", so the higher light corals would do good there, and lower extending outward, (what Bill said). With all this being said, I go by the expectation of a single bulb being able to cover a 2'X2' area. LMK if I'm wrong.

All the bulbs have 3 months on them. The Halides are Reefgrow, and usually go for 18 months. I used this on my 36gal bowfront tank which was 30". The actinics (420nm) are also 3 moths old, I have 2 new actinics that I will also include.

Yes, still available. I have had a lot of interest but no takers.
You don't really want to pay shipping do you? The ballast is heavy!
