Well I took some picture with my dad's Canon D1 I believe. Im still trying to work out some kinks. I am a super novice in cameras so trying my best with some tips from my father here and there. I took about 50 shots and this was my best so far.

This is my Blue Sapphire Damsel that I have had for about 3 weeks now.

Like I said the camera is a Canon D1 with a Canon 35-350mm telephoto lens.

I think my shutter was to low (cause of the blurs)

You are using a GREAT camera, and a nifty lens...it's just not as great for aquariums specifically.

The camera is a 1D, not a D1. As a former NFL workhorse, tracking fast fish in an aquarium is almost a specialty of this camera. While the 35-350mm is a pretty cool lens, I have a hunch your dad has a small plethora of others to choose from. 350mm is a bit ridiculous in an aquarium, and the overall speed of the lens suffers to give you that reach. Ask him for a "faster" lens. You are looking for a *wide aperture* such as f/1.4-f/2.8. If he happens to have an 85mm f/1.8 for example, that lens should stop your damsel in its tracks.
