300 gallon build

Ok this seems like the place to put it, I have a 96x24x30 coming from zeroedge . Just a standard plexi tank drilled peninsula side overflow with a 48 sump from them also. So far only my reef breeder photon 48s are here and in the next few days I start on the stand. I am looking at ordering an elite reef octopus 220int for the sump and a reeflo baracuda/hammerhead for the closed loop.

So after doing some looking around I'm thinking about getting the apex gold system, http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/apex-controller-gold-system-neptune-systems.html
and a 6 stage r/o unit, http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/brs-6-stage-universal-plus-ro-di-system-75gpd.html

Most of my years of experience was spent in freshwater and nano type saltwater so any input on weather or not an item is a good product or if it is not needed or not

Congrats on the tank purchase. With a tank that size you definitely want to get a good RODI unit. Buying water from the LFS or another source will get expensive very quickly, and the RODI should pay for itself in no time. Everything starts with water, so you need to be sure that the water you are putting in is as pure as possible. If you are going with the BRS unit, I would recommend the 150gpd upgrade as well. It cuts down on your waste and ~double your product water. Depending on your water pressure, you may need a booster pump as well, especially if you get the 150gpd upgrade.

I have a BRS 6 stage and ran 75gpd for a while. When I added the second membrane and booster pump the change in output was unbelievable. I actually tested my water multiple times when I initially installed it because I couldn't believe it was making 0 TDS water that quickly.

An Apex is not a necessity, but most people that have them seem to love them. If it fits in your budget, I would definitely get a controller of some sort.

Great input thanks Ivan, I wanted to go with the 150 gpd but was unsure now I know.
As far as the sump I plan on placing the skimmer in it. Tank will be live rock and softies as we are not allowed corals where I live.
