I used to have half of these in a 10gal for almost a year...was actually pretty easy at keeping levels steady. I actually find this set up a bit more difficult at keeping everything stable.
ya know, im not too sure! As I was taking them out of a friends tank and putting back in mine, I was clueless as to how they all fit in the 10. Here is a pic of the 10gal. I had over 30 pieces in there.
Madscientist - Yeah I hear you. I find my 16 gallon easier than my 46 gallon to maintain. It's also easier to pump up minerals, DKH ect. to drive SPS frag growth ect...
Are you posting your pics in your RC gallery? Think about using photobucket. You can get bigger pics, and its really easy to post. BTW, when do we get to come see the tank and video???
Flyfisherman - Glad to hear im not the only crazy SPS nano keeper. Do you have any pics you can post?
DarkXerox - I know it seems like a lot of light, but after reading a study on par/time of day on the reefs, my decision was clear. IMHO, there is no such thing as too much light. Acclimation is key. There is a saturation point to where corals will stop utilizing the light and grow slower, but I dont think many of us reach it. Most sps saturate at 15,000 to 30,000 Lux. At my surface I am pushing around 28 to 29 thousand lux. Im sure it is much lower under the water (my meter isnt water proof ). When I had the XM 10K over the 10gal, I was around 42,000 Lux and everything was growing.
Big D - Video is done and tank is running good. Im free today so if you get a chance, shoot me a call. I will have to get schooled by you in the photobucket area. Thanx again for baby sitting my corals
