3155 Problems

Just set up a 3155 and the the pump continues to operate until the overflow float valve activates and an intermittent alarm sounds. the water level sensor appears to be correctly mounted. Any suggestions?

There are 3 possibilities.

First, make sure that the pump is actually running and water is not siphoning. If you are pumping to your sump a siphon is very likely, you should pump up to the tank.

Second, new sensors attract air and repel water. This is the nature of new plastic, it has a waxy film from production. Rinse it in hot soapy water and make sure no microbubbles are present where it is mounted. This problem will also solve itself in a few days provided microbubbles are not present but hot soapy water is an instant fix.

Third, Make sure no magnetic devices are near the controller, this includes ballasts and large motors.
