Rain barrels is another option, you can get food grade ones second hand on CL for $20-30 there are a couple of people selling these and they claim that they are all triple washed, rinsed and so on....

I'm using reef crystals but read that a lot of people prefer not to use it because of the high alk and vitamins.

Do you dose kalk or dosing 2 parts at all?

I've had good luck with Reef Crystals for 6 years now, I won't change. The only way I nuke my tank is when I put on the dummy hat.

I like the high alk and I do dose super saturated Kalk. As for the vitamins, I'm not sure what you are talking about.
