320 gallons of Serenity, Sea Monsters & Sanctuary

ljosh, thanks for the compliment. I feel there is a little too much. But since it came from a FOWLR setup it would tend in that direction. I am trying to straddle the line of looking nice without corals but leaving enough 3D depth to add them and grow.

Cleaning, yes, there is enough space. I have to use one of the oblong "MagFloat" because the curved glass is not well cleaned by a wider version. It is also hard because the glass is relatively thick and I would prefer a stronger magnet. If anything changes down the road, I can relocate the pieces be drilling new holes in the polypropylene.

Now it’s time to start thinking about keeping the eels in the tank and not carpet surfing. There are six (6) ventilation holes in the canopy and large rectangular cut outs for the plumbing to go over the edge. I found a good size plastic gutter guard material and covered the ventilation holes. Pretty straight forward.

The cut outs are another matter. I fashioned some aluminum u-channel and potted the gutter guard in with epoxy. I then shaped some cut outs for the pipes without cutting the aluminum under the potting. That should be enough to discourage the eels.

These elaborate cutting schemes were needed to fill gaps between tight fitting pipes.

Sandra Suzanne Sullivan, 72, of Morrow, OH, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, April 5, 2017. God Bless the mother who bought & admired my first goldfish! I only wish she could have seen where this build would ended. Her magnificent photograph of fish has been lost to us.

The LR filter is currently running on the ASM and is currently doing all the skimming. I get a thick paste daily because I am running am not wet skimming yet. I just want to clear what the LR sheds. The settling tank does a decent job of getting some of this material too but the flow velocity is very high.

I started this thread using Photobucket but since it was my first thread I did not know the downside of using Photobucket. If anyone knows if and how I can go back and change the pictures in the thread to be within RC, please let me know. Photobucket has choked its site with adds to make it impossible to use without paying the ad-free upgrade. No sour grapes, but clearly their value proposition has changed to squeeze revenue and I will need to change my methods.

Now I still see the photographs. Is that just me because they are in my browser history? And the rest of people are seeing nothing?

i am guessing you can see the images because you have an upgraded PukeBucket account and the rest of us do not.

which is the problem. PukeBucket is trying to get everyone to upgrade their accounts to see pictures hosted in others accounts.

G~

So how do I get it to look really nice with photos rather than thumbnails? If I am putting the effort in I want something quality for the site. :headwalls:

Another bit of bad luck: fusion of my lower L3-L4-L5: Two cages, two rods, six screws. Enough with this nonsense.

Since I have been recuperating and pressing ahead with the project, I am going to add material by content and as I remember it.
