So just to bring you guys up to date on this build that I've been doing.
So I have had a ten gallon the first one that I used an led par 30 and had some corals a anemone and clownfish. I upgraded to a 20long and everythings in there. I got a tank from craigslist that was free so I picked it up.
It was 22 x 30 x 12
I removed the trim and the front of the tank. I cut it and sanded it at 12 inches now I have a rimless shallow 33 gallon.
I built the stand out of 3/4 plywood and painted it with black paint
I have been waiting to drill it for a bulkhead with a strainer something I found online. 1 inch bulkhead with 1 5/8 hole saw which is almost here.
I was going to use the 20l and keep it but well i'm a slight addict and want something big enough for a small angelfish at least.
So I was using a little zerowater pitcher and well with a 40gallon system I went ahead and bought a ro filter.
I was hoping to stay with 20l and use the par 30 and add a par38 well I cme across a deal on a odessy 250 watt with 4 24watt t5ho and moonlights. which will work perfect on this new tank that's a lil over 10 watts a gallon on a shallow tank.
Which I want to have a mixed reef but mostly sps corals.
Anyhow I have been letting corals grow and keeping fish in quarantine for the system.
I'm going to be using the ten gallon quary as a sump with a protein skimmer and rio 2100 for return. And the 20l will be my quarantine for other fish to be added.
The only thing i'm waiting on now is the drill bit to knock a hole and the tank is ready. And put buble trap glass in sump.
I've got a few powerheads that will give me about 100times turnover.
I really need to get a new ballast and bulbs for the fixture but will hold off for a couples months till the tank has established and is fully stocked.
