Could Someone Tell me if my aquarium (35g) is big enouf for the following fish/inverts/corals:

True Percula Clownfish (2)
Kaudern's Cardinal (3)
Bicolor Blenny (2)

Dwarf Zebra Hermit Crab (15)
Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp (2)
Bulb Anemone (1)

Tree Coral (1)
Ruffled Ridge Coral (1)
Horn Coral, Fluorescent (1)
Wrinkle Leptoseris Coral (1)
Ricordea Mushroom, Blue/Green (Caribbean) (1)
Pink Thick Branch Birdsnest Coral (1)
Fuchsia Pocillopora Coral (1)

So what you think?

I would limit the tank to maybe 3-4 for starters, and skip the anemone. The anemone can grow to be about 1' in diameter, assuming you mean Entacmaea quadricolor, the bubble-tip anemone. I don't think blennies do well in groups, so you might want to check that. For the corals, this book is useful:

[ericsbook]

The 2 blennies are likely to fight one another......It will be a full bioload otherwise but I think it's do-able. By the way, you can fit way more corals than that in your tank....there is always room to squeeze in another coral....right?? :D

Hi

I have changed the fish and tank size it 125 liters around 33gals, im gna go with a Fii Theme so going to get

- Two Tomato Clowns (2)
- Bulb tip Anemone (1)
- True Lemonpeel Angelfish (2)

my goal is to try breed them, my tank is going to be 50cm by 50cm by 50cm.

can it be done?

Thanks

If you want to breed them, I'd definitely skip the BTA and the angelfish, since you'll want to feed the parents pretty heavily.

BTAs are more touchy animals from the start, and they're pretty big in a 35g, IMO, especially with two breeding clowns. You'll want to feed them heavily, and that'll bring bioload way up and water quality down. The angelfish might harass the clowns, especially in such a small tank.

The breeders forum has pointers to a lot of information on breeding clownfish.

Hi

I understand what your sating so im going to go with a bigger tank-

2ft long
2ft wide
2ft heigh

i think thats about 58 gallons (216L) thats alot bigger than my older tank, anyway this is what I am thinking-

Colored Sailfin Blenny Fiji (2)
Orange Lined Cardinalfish (3)
Bulb Anemone (1)
Lemonpeel Angelfish (2)
Tomato Clownfish (2)

Sounds like you need to make up your first, you have change the size of your tank three times in this thread

I hate to sound negative but it is not very easy at all to breed even one pair of salt water fish or keep an anenome, let alone do three pairs and an anenome in one rather modest sized tank -- hey my own tank is that size. Keeping a tank becomes quite a drag when things are unhealthy, fighting, etc. It's just not as much fun.

Let me suggest that you start gradually with LR for a month or so, then some clean up crew, then gradually some corals and schooling fish like the cardinals. After about a year with your tank mature and your skills honed you can decide which of those things to do next. Just a suggestion.

Hi

Thats a good idea i was going to start with the clownfish slowly adding fish as it goes, and after about 8 months ill add the anemoe, might not add the blennies or the Cardinal Fish. i am staying with the 2ft x 2ft x 2ft.

Thanks

10 fish in a 58 gallon is a disaster waiting to happen. Definitely take it way slower and good idea waiting on the anemone, those need very stable systems to have a chance of surviving. Most wait 1 year+.

2 dwarf angels in a 58g tank is not good...they will fight for territory...the only fish you will probably be able to breed is the clowns.
i think the blennies will fight to.
suggestion- enjoy the hobby..dont really worry about breeding them until they are mature and the tank is mature.

take it nice and slow...good luck! :)

If you're serious about breeding, you won't want the anemone. Professional breeders don't generally keep anemones with their pairs.

The blenny and angelfish pairs won't work in a tank that size, if at all.
