36" DIY LED over a 57g

This setup has 48 3w cree xp leds with 60 deg optics. They run on a 4 Mean Well ELN-60-48D dimmable drivers. I mounted them on heatsink strips of 33"x1". This spaced out to around 2 3/8" from center to center of each led. I put 2 80mm fans in the hood to help with heat also.

I used a Fixture that i found on from Catalina Aquariums. It was very tight, but I love the way it turned out.

Here are a few picture of me building it.

I should be getting a PAR meter from my local club soon to see the par levels from this fixture

i like the way the hood look over your tank. the work you put into it really payed off. very nicely done, great craft man ship. bravo!

Looks amazing!

I will be finishing my build for the same size tank using 48 XP series LEDs in a few weeks.

Very nice build! Are the DC inputs for the fans or are you dimming externally? I am guessing this is their 36" DIY Ultra Reef Aquarium Hood Kit for $90. Did it come with the acrylic splash shield? Do regular 80mm computer fans fit into this enclosure? Thanks!

The DC inputs are for the fans and the dimmer switch.

This is the ultra reef hood for 90 dollars. Catalina aquariums offers a acrylic splash guard if you ask. I didnt know if one would fit with the optics so i cut a piece of acrylic myself.

Yes 80mm fans work in this.
