I really do love this unit, however over my 120g 5 foot tank the corners are still a little dark. This unit is ideal for a 3' or 4' tank. Even with the unit 12-14'' off the water in a 26'' deep tank, I'm still getting 150-170par on the middle of the sandbed.
I got the unit directly from Gus 7-8mths ago and was actually running it on a 29g tank (only at 30% whites and NO T5s)... unit was originally $599, I got it on sale for $579.
3 T5 bulbs are only 3 months old they are:
ATI Purple plus, ATI Blue Plus, ATI Actinic,
I swapped out my (forgot brand) Super Actinic bulb (2mths old) for another ATI Blue Plus which is only 1 mth old.
So you'd get 5 T5 bulbs that still have a TON of life left (T5s are good for 8-12mths), at ~$20/each that's another $100.
Programming the unit is a BREEZE, and is built into the unit itself, you can set 9 different time settings which is awesome to program exactly how you want throughout the day - Whites, Blues, Red/Greens, and Moonlights are dimmable every 1% - Unit also has an internal battery backup so it can go 3 days without power and not have to be re-programmed. The wireless remote is awesome as well because you can easily take it out of the programmed mode into manual and set any percentages you want immediately (if you want to show someone the tank in only blues, etc)
I have all the hanging kit wires, mounting legs, as well as the manual and can show you how to program it (really easy)
