360g (72x42x27) - Austin TX (SPS dominated)

Warning on the Emperor Angel. He's fine with my SPS expect for he keeps running into them and breaking them off since he's so big now, I've had him for 8 years.

But he ate all my bubble tip anemone and basically any LPS. He didn't when he was younger, but as he got older, he cleaned the tank in basically a day or two!

Wow, ate your BTAs? I don't think I've heard of that before. Thanks for the warning. I'm planning on moving most of my LPS out. Did he eat torches/hammers or just acans/zoas?

And I would expect that most big fish have trouble navigating a tank full of acros. How big is he now? Got any pictures?

Nice build. I like the dimensions of the tank and will be tagging along.

If you haven't already hacked into your Waveline controller, you can use one of these - available from fish-street.com.

I have one for the two DC pumps I have on my system, but have yet to hook it up. Makes a nice addition for feed cycles, etc.

Yep, all but one of the BTA's that my clowns protect. Not sure he actually ate them, but every time he swam by he picked at them until the wilted away because they could never open up.

Hammers, torches, brains are his favorite. Instant B line for them and rips them to shreds. Acans and zoas he would just pick at so they would never open and wilt away.

He's about 8" now. I'll try to post a pick later tonight when I get home.

Hey Chris, great to see another large tank in Austin :)

Can't wait to see more progress!

Got a shipment in from BattleCorals. Sneak peak while things acclimate.

I think this tank will now be known as Milliville

Thanks. I'll take a look. I'd like more variable flow out of it.

Interesting. I'll definitely keep an eye on him. I've got another 2 weeks in QT. He's eating frozen foods so we will see if he reverts back.

I've got 5-6 RBTAs in the tank now, plus 3 in the frag tank, but none of my clowns host them. :(

I see you have a love for Millepora. My fav acros are millis. Awesome purchase. Adam has some pretty cool stuff.

Very nice! I bought a standard looking brown millepora with blue tips and its turning into a stunner. Give those corals some love and care and stability and Im sure they will look awesome after a few months. I can see pink on the corallite edges of the one you posted above. That one definitely has potential!

There are some definite stunners in the group. One of the non-millis (I know, I know), looks very simliar to the pearlberry (a. plana). Really excited to see how that one turns out.

Getting another shipment of frags tomorrow and then I'm done for corals (again, I know, I know). I need to get my emperor out of QT and get another few fish in the tank.

Next step is to acclimate the frags and then mount them.

I'm thinking about lowering the rockwork on the right side of the tank. The par values in the middle of the tank are sufficient and will allow more vertical growth.

what is everyone's thoughts on my aquascape? I like the left side but I feel the right side is too tall / full / bulky. I've been following a lot of aussie threads lately and one UK thread (sahin) and I think I'd like to lower the right side.

I took some PAR measurements with my fixture with the T5s at 100% and the LEDs at 80% and I'm confident that I could continue to grow acros if I lowered the rock structure. This should also allow my fish to swim the full 6' without interruption by the rock work. A friend suggested it would be easier to do it now without the corals mounted, which I completely agree. I think once these new additions acclimate and are ready to be mounted, I'll change up the rocks a bit.

It's not the right side that's too bulky, it's the middle. Move the middle bulk to the right side and make the centre taller and thinner.
