About a month ago I traded some frags for some glass with the intentions of building a tank from scratch next spring, but, plans got pushed ahead a bit by a pump failure.
The pieces of glass are the front bottom and back of a tank that was 96"long, 24" front to back, and 36" top to bottom. I will be re-engineering it to be 96" long, 36" front to back, and 24" top to bottom. My current 180g will be donating its front glass to be cut into the ends of the 360g tank.
As I stated, I hadn't really planned on starting this project until next spring, but, my return pump failed on me a few days ago and with my sump being in the basement, I didn't have a replacement pump strong enough to push enough water the 11' up to my display. Having already planned on breaking down my 180g in the spring I figured I might as well start now rather than spend money on a new pump. I had a 125g tank sitting in the basement waiting for me to start the project in the spring so I just transferred everything from the 180g down to the 125g. To make things easier I rerouted my overflow plumbing from my sump to the 125g so that I could just pump the water down the 180g overflows to the 125 downstairs. I dismantled the rock work in the 180 and spread everything out on the sand then pumped about half of the water from the 180 down to the 125. I then transferred everything piece by piece down to the 125.
I'll try to get some pictures uploaded and posted here in a bit.
This is going to be a slow-going process as I have quite a bit on my plate right now.
