Newly installed bio-pellet reactor by Aquamaxx to keep nitrates at a controllable setting. I suspect this will take 2-6 months to start working, time will tell. Also, not sure how effective it will be given the size of the reactor vs the size of the tank but if it works and works well I suspect it should help keep nitrates below 10ppm which for a fish only is just fine.

Final setup of skimmer waste collector. Thought I'd make it so that I can go on an extended vaca without having to worry about skimmate collection. Added a quick push disconnect and valve for ease of management and maintenance.

Got a bunch of fish in there, all doing well. Only had some (4) small green chromis fish loss which I think was attributed to the use of bio pellets which also cost me a small clown tang. Have some Angels and tangs in there all doing well. Still stocking tank.

Skimmer working well, still on the light bio side.

Just got the Neptune automatic feeder, dos and water sensors. Programming all that today.

Will be looking to dose MG and maybe vinegar or RedSea nopox for nitrates. Still need to read a little more into the nopox vs vinegar. Don't need to dose alk or calcium since I don't have any corals, I suspect if coralline algae ever grows it will start consuming it but for now my all stays around 8.3, ph pretty steady only Mg is around 1140, would like to see 1220.

Actually mine were right on. I calibrated it twice and both times identical results.

So I got the second DOS today to dose alk and cal and going to set that up.

Running to lowes for some tubing as I don't like the hard tubing they ship the unit with. Lowes has the same size but it's much more flexible and softer so it's easier to manipulate.

Still need to setup (3) EB4's and the ALD plus 4 sensors. I swear, this project will never end.

Perhaps I missed this but why did you get EB4's? Did you just want mechanical switches versus electronic?

Since the vectra's don't work with the apex, I got the EB4's so I could hook up each Vectra to one and in turn plug that EB4 I to a dedicated UPS. Then, with the use of the ALD and sensors I can turn everything off. The key is individually splitting the vectra's to their own UPS for extended runtime.

Having 2nd Vectra replaced due to overheating.

This is not encouraging not to mention extremely frustrating.

Outside casing measures 136 degrees.

This is the same closed loop pump that was replaced once already. Just started doing it yesterday...so, looks like a failed component.

No reductions anywhere so no restrictions on my end from a flow perspective.

cant imagine whats causing your temps to go so high. mine has always been around 100 degrees and run them the way you do.

Running pump at 85% gets rid of alerts. Apparently there are others having the same issue.
Going to try running at 90% today.
