375 g Reef/ 600 g System stuffed in my office

I found a formula on line. It.was originally propsed to battle flukes & internal worms in fishes.
Follow the recipe to make the base solution of 5g/ltr and dose that at 1 ltr to 300 g system volume. Once a week for at least three weeks.

Sorry for not getting back but I've misplaced the links I used. I will find them and pot them soon.

Here are a few more pieces that I transfered into the 100

Yes, this is the link I initially followed.

However, this is the freshwater dose and is too strong for delicate marine inverts. I know that to be true as I followed this dose initially, and really put a hurt'n on many critters.

Further research brought me to the recommended dose of 5 grams/300 gallons of marine water. This is what I ultimately used and it worked fine with only the draw backs I described earlier. I can not seem to find the trail of articles that I referenced to identify this dose. I know I've posted them somewhere in some thread, just can't seem to find it!

I'll continue to look, I was busy tapping and spakling all holiday weekend as we've got a party comming up for our first to graduate high school!

The good news in that is, that the project included demolishing the nasty old 70's bar where my ne tank will soon stand!

Friday night was my first prom night. She was beautiful! I get to go through it one more one more time in three years!

You sound like a proud father!
I know how hard it is when they graduate from school and move out :sad2:

Just wait until you have grandchildren.

Our youngest grand child is 2-1/2 years old, we took him to the beach Sunday and for the first time he didn't run or SCREEM from the waves....
Now he loves our pool, but the waves/ocean he wasn't so sure of.
The other 3 never had a problem with the beach. We have a hard time keeping them out of the water :lmao:

I am a proud father to be sure! :D

I hope to wait about 7 more years to enjoy being a grand parent! At least till she gets her Masters and a year or so of "real life" under her belt!

The begining of the end of my office reef!

The begining of the end of my office reef!

I know it is sad, but all things come to pass. Recent developments require me to move my offices, YET AGAIN! :headwallblue: And I can't keep ripping down my system and starting over every two years, it's just getting old. My system is now just back on its feet after a battle with AEFWs I do not want to move my critters in to anything less then a complete and well established system. So, I've decided not to move my reef to my new office.

Instead, I get to build the system at home I have always wanted! 8)

Here's the trailer for the new system:

A DeepBlue 150g 48x24x31h display with a 1,500 gph GH overflow
I'm going to expand on my LED lighting with MH supplementation lighting scheme for this tank. At least to start circulation will be a VorTech MP40, MP20, and 4x Tunze 6100s, I may change this to some other more power efficient combination of PHs.

My remote, support will be in the garage in a vented cabinet. The sump, fuge, frag and QT tanks will all be in this cabinet. Dart return pump through my chiller. An Octopus SRO XP3000 will do the skimming. I will still be running my MTC ProCal calcium reactor along with UV, Ozone, GFO and GAC.

The focus will be on ease of maintenance, power efficiency, and a clean look for my wife's sake! :wavehand:

In the end, it's all good!

IF you have the time start a new thread so we can keep up with your progress. Good luck I am sure it will turn out great..Hope all is well...

Hey Eric!

I'll definitly link from here to the new thread.

How' your tank doing?
And your baby and the "puppy" in your avatar must both weigh 80 pounds by now!!!???

HAHAA. Yeah there getn big. My tank has just been on cruise controll, my fish are big and a few softies no major corals untill i am ready to spend some more time with the tank.

We are starting to move in the right direction! HOME that is!!!

I'll be moving sumps and other equipment over through the next couple of weeks. I need to be out of the old office by Dec 31 so we are on a schedule now!

I just ordered my display tank , a Deep Blue 150 g tank yesterday. Once it's in, I'll drill it and set a Gl*******s 1500 gph overflow in it and we'll really get moving again! :D

The new Deep Blue 150 is in at the LFS!

My corals are all gathered together in one section of the system (the 75 frag tank) , still have to catch all the fish out of the 100g and place them in the 75 so I can tear down over this weekend and start the rebuild process.

Then comes the hard part. Restarting a fully bioloaded system ..... AGAIN! This will be the third time I've had to move a 300+ gallon reef system in a week. I was very lucky the last couple of times, suffering minimal losses, I'm hoping my good fortune continues.

Since it's going to be 150 SPS display, 325ish total volume, I'll start a new thread in the SPS Keepers section in couple of weeks. I'll post the link here for friends and lurkers. :D

Thank you for the well wishes!

And Happy Holidays to you Sandy!

I'm all about the pics. With out pics it never happened!
