I got my camera going and now I have done enough progress to be able to start this thread.

There is 2 main reasons for this thread, first is to be able to get the feedback and criticism and second to be able to have fun and hopefully be able to give you also ideas for your set up.

As most know I purchased this tank used and other than being beautiful it was just the perfect fit and color for my house and a space that I had in mind for a long time.

The specs are as follows,
Tank 96"x30"x30" Eurobraced 1/2" starfire glass 3/4" overflow on one end of tank.
Stand 96"x30"x45" made out of 3"x2" rectangular steel (welded). The outer shell is made out of a close foam material with a coral rock finish.

Equipment, most with very few exceptions will be use from my existing set-up.
I am using a sequence 3600 to power everything, only 1 pump running the return, skimmer/UV, Chiller, In theory it should work, we shall see
Two skimmers will be running the tank, ETSS 600xr and a Deltc Turbo1060.
The Calcium will be controlled by a Deltec 601 Calcium Reactor and a PM Kalk reactor.
A 57w UV will be added to this system as well as a Ozonizer that will be use with the Deltec skimmer.
Light will be supply by a 72" Maristar fixture 3x250w MH + 4x39w T5 actinic
Flow will be aid by a Tunze wave box and 2 Tunze stream 6100, I plan to add two more as soon as I can get my hand on a good deal.

I see your point, I guess you will need to see it in person to understand.
What I am implying is as simple as possible, I could have use the close loop that this tank as designed, instead the plumbing is very simple straight lines minimal bends.

Looks good, 8 foot tank that is super nice. The only thing i see is that the Maristar like all long and narrow fixtures does not give a good spread to the MH in a wide tank like a Lumenarc Reflector can.

Yes, I was worried about that too at the planning stages, until I realized that my rock formation is actually going to be narrower than my current tank, and although this new tank will be wider the high is the same. My concern now is the length differences, the Maristar 72" has 3 reflectors that are permanently positioned for a 6 foot tank, when I transfer this to the new tank I will have to play with the positioning of the light until I can find a happy medium.

Hey Rogger, now that you got the camera thing under control make sure you post updates with some pics... That stand is awesome, but I wanna see the canopy all hooked up.

Hey if you need the glass cleaned on the inside, remember I could scuba in the tank and clean it like they do at Seaworld. lol

r you plumbing the chiller outside house like before? one 3/4 inch overflow or is it 3 returns each 4 inches in diameter? looks though! one other question, what did you do with your live stock from your last tank while your building this one?

my feelings exactly, my biggest concern is glass cleaning time, 3 sides....Yikes

that is not a bad idea, I am sure Carlos will love to film that one!

Only the chiller will be outside, everything else will be installed inside, I like the extra space and also the convenience to be able to work inside.
It is only one overflow with 2-2" drains, I will be only using one 2" drain and will try that "Herbie" method.
My other tank is still running now, everything will be transfer over on moving day.

how many inches does the overflow take up? you may only need to light 7 feet of the tank. thats only 6 inches either side of the light you have.

anyway, have fun and add me to the jealous list!
