3ft BB ULNS Tank

Looking great so far Scott, how is Spud the angel doing - that's right i gazumped everyone and that's his name now, bad luck to rename a fish as you know so........... :fun4:

Those smooth skinned acros look super cool, never seen a single one of those types for sale so i'll settle for watching you work your magic and follow your progress.

The rock work is perfect for the display you have planned, looks awesome.

Thank you biggles, I guess Spud it is then not that I had any say in the matter anyways

I've always been a big fan of the smooth skinned acros, these just popped up at the right time so I nabbed them and put them in storage . Hopefully it all works out as planned mate I have my fingers crossed

Thanks I'm very happy with how the rock work has turned out, luckily the corals I picked up emphasise what I'm trying to achieve. Now for the top section ;)

So happy you got him to eat scott:)
He looks amazing buddy!
Did you get any trouble with him, reagarding disease and such?

Love the tank!
Looks awesome:)
Will you add more acros in the future?

Thank you Mike :)
No mate I haven't had any dramas with him disease wise at all so far

Yea mate the plan is to line the top section with some nice pieces too mate but just waiting for the right pieces ;)

Well I guess spud the angel it is :)

I think that's a great name Tami, let's hope Spud behaves himself :)

On the off chance that Spud takes a liking to acro polyps, rest assured i have a few subtle tricks up my sleeve to stop the rot. 'The Shark' is a technique used with great success to alter the behavioural patterns of errant angels. Let me know if you want details of this simple but highly effective technique.

More pics and more acros please guys :)

Well it's stuck now biggles even the kids are calling him Spud and I don't know if you know but it's bad luck to change fish names :lolspin:

I have my fingers crossed too mate they are always a risk but one of the most beautiful fish that you can put in a reef tank IMO. If he does turn bad I'll have to have a chat about "The Shark" method

I'll get some more pics up soon buddy but not much has changed since the last pics :)

That be a good thing to know Biggles. .please do share

A few new additions to the tank. Most have come from my other tank as I didn't want to add anymore until I was 100% sure it was ready

What is the supply of corals like in Oz? I'd imagine it was easier to get some great pieces. We go mad for Aussie wilds in the UK.

Supply is really good here you just have to be patient and the right pieces come along. There is a very minimal frag supply though most of that is done by trading with fellow reefers

Another awesome tank Scott:beer:, definatily subbed. How many gallons (or liters) is the tank? As for Biggles's "The Shark" method I'd be cautious as to what it could be, here's what I think it could be

1. Chassing and/or whacking the fish with a stick(yes he does do that to stuff).
2. He plays the movie Jaws in front of the tank.
3. He waits out of sight of the fish and when it eats a polyp he jumps up in front of the tank and scares the fish half to death.
that is only a few of the possible options that Biggles would try:lolspin:
