4 Fish (2 Tangs) In 1 QT?

I have a LiveAquaria DD order coming Tuesday and want to make sure I have the right QT or QT's set up for them.

The Fish are:
1. 3-7/8" Maldivian Powder Blue Tang
2. 2-3/4" Hawaiian Yellow Eye Kole Tang
3. 1" and 1-3/8" Tank Bred Kaudern's Cardinalfish Bonded Pair

I have a 30g(36x12x16) set up for them which I think will be fine, but the more I think about it the more I keep second guessing myself.
I also have a 20L and 10g I can set up if I need to. What do you think will I be ok with just the 30?

I think the single 30g will be fine for all provided water quality is maintained, you'd be doing roughly the same/more water changes if you split tanks anyway. PBT might display some aggression, hopefully he's not too nasty. 36" should be fine for a qt period.

I just recently QT'd both a 2.5" Powder Brown Tang as well as a 3" Kole Tang in my 46BF. The Kole Tang was added well before the PBT, so there was plenty of tail slapping between the two for the first couple of days. They settled down, but still went after each other every so often. Now in my 125, there is close to 0 aggression between the two. Being confined in a smaller tank definitely increased the aggression between them IMO.

The good thing for you is they will both be added the same time. The bad thing is that they are both decently sized, and you are adding 4 fish to a smaller tank which can lead to water quality issues that will need to be closely monitored. My QT has 75 lbs of LR in it, so there was plenty of macro algae for both to pick at all day. In a barebottom 30 (assuming that is the case), you will need to make sure you always have nori for them to pick at as aggression will likely increase the less they are fed. And again, the increased food will lead to water quality issues.

So I realize I haven't given you a straight answer, but hopefully given enough to let you make a decision :)

A 30L is fine for the fish you propose in terms of space, just put in plenty of PVC hiding places. Not sure what you plan for biological filtration (have you seeded media?), but ammonia buildup would be my concern more than space, so be prepared to do water changes. FWIW, I QT'd four 3" butteflyfish in a 20L without issue. Good luck!

That's about what I figured, Ammonia will be the biggest threat.
I have 4 filter sponges seeding in the DT, also dosing Microbacter7 also to help seed them too.
I plan on using Prime daily while there in the QT. Will also do 5g WC every other day and will be ready to do more if need be.
I plan on using Para Guard for 21 days and if they look good after 30 days they will go into the 125.
