4 foot T5 actual dimensions

Anyone with 4' T5s - what is the actual length dimension including endcaps? I'm thinking of either putting retros in a DIY hood or putting a TEK fixture in a DIY hood.

i believe bulbs are 45" and end caps are 1" . my fixture is 47.5" i would have to cut some wood supports inside my hood to make it fit, so i went topless

Dan, IIrc 46.5" is what I had my frame made to. I can measure for sure, but I'm 99% sure it's less than 47".

that would be good. It's a 120 that measures 48.5" so the canopy inside will be a little less, maybe 47.5"

On mine, with 46" bulbs, from the widest point of the end cap (the base) to the widest point on the other end cap it is about 46 7/8". From the outside of the end cap from where the bulb sits to the outside of the end cap looks to be exactly 46 1/2".

So, you should have room.

46 17/32" here, so make sure you leave a little extra room.
