4 weeks of QT is sometimes not enough

make that six weeks of QT isnt enough.

Purchased a flame angel from my lfs. I left the fish in their QT for two weeks to observe. After two weeks, I brought the fish to my own QT for observation. No signs of any problems for 4 whole weeks. So I finally put him in display with my two clowns. Last night I noticed all three fish were covered in white spots. Spent all last night getting hospital tank setup and ready to go. Got up this morning and tested water to make sure everything was correct. Went with a copper treatment because I honestly dont think the fish would survive 2 more days of being infested trying to get down to hyposalinity.

I have never done a copper treatment with the intention of reintroducing into a reef tank. How do you make sure the fish is free of any copper? freshwater bath before putting back in DT?

do a water change in a display, keep the removed water in the bucket. put the fish in it. waite a few minutes. moove the fish to the display.

I think u r a bit off here. as soon as u remove the fish from a dispaly in to a hosp, they are no longer reinfected, and the bugs on them stay on till ready to drop regardless of cupper. with a few fish i'd actually go with the tank shift method, much easyer on fish as it is short, stops reinfestation and no stress inducers like meds or hipo involved.
