Well I got my hands on a Nikon D3000 DSLR. I bought it for my wife's 40th but had to test it on the tank of course.
So finally I have a decent camera that shows the colours like I see them in person.
These shots are using the 'auto' setting with no adjustments to any settings. I clearly have a lot to learn but I'm happy with what I've shot given my photographic noobness. :nut:
I've added 3 MP40W Vortechs. They are great and really not noisy, unless run in pulse mode. I am running each on reef-crest mode with no syncing, for the best random flow possible.
I've also added some blue suede 'panels' to my hood. They match the stand and are easy to remove or gain access to the water when feeding. My lovely and still very young wife helped me with the cutting and sewing (read she did it all). It's not quite finished but I'm very happy with the result. Adds a touch of class.
Here's a shot of my 8yr olds FW nano. I help him with the maintenance. He's very interested in aquaria, including the reef of caourse.
Been playing with this camera a bit more. Man it's fun!
Here's some shots I got today with more manual settings.
And finally some action shots of Bella and Luke running around the pool on fast shutter speed. It's nice and hot in Melbourne today. 35 sunny degrees on the way.
