4 x 6101 or 2 x 6101/ 2 x 6201?

Dear Roger,

I'm planning my tank - Peninsular 3 side view with end external overflow Size: L:200cm x W: 80cm x H:70cm and I'm seeking your advise what's the best combination of flow?? Planning to keep mainly SPS

Option 1: TS24 + 2 x 6201 at end of tank (2 on each side of overflow)

Option 2: TS48 (2 on each side of overflow)

Option 3: TS24 + 1 wavebox (2 on each side of overflow)

The goal is not to have the pumps visible so I'm going to hide it next to the overflow as it's 3-side Peninsular tank....

Appreciate your advise?

I would go with option 3 but the wavebox may have to be visible for the arrangement to work.

Thanks Roger for your suggestion...I'm planning to have the end of tank section off (sort of hidden in an external box) so I can place the pumps and wavebox in there...is this feasible?

I attached a file for better explanation (hope the attachment works)

Cheers..Ed

Yes that should work but you have to be sure that the wavebox will have no obstacles between the output and the other side of the tank to get the biggest wave.

Which is the best Options?

Which is the best Options?

Thanks Roger - with a wavebox, I have a couple of choices which I would like to ask you if it's workable to get the best flow??

Option 1: 2 x 6101 + 1 wavebox

Option 2: 2 x 6201 + 1 wavebox

Option 3: 2 x 6101 + 2 x 6201 (No wavebox)

This will be my primary flow for my SPS tank of 2m apart from 2 x 1" return. Also where would the 2 x 1" return best located?

I attached pictures of the 3 Option for easy reference.

None of those options are really ideal, Option 1 or 2 is the best but having both pumps side by side doesn't make any sense, one of them needs to be moved to be near the wavebox or in a stream rock on the other side of the tank.

Revised Plans?

Revised Plans?

Thanks Roger,

I have revised accordingly and have move 1 Tunze pump next to the wavebox....picture attached. Will this work better?? Also should I used 2 x 6101 or 2 x 6201 for my tank as it's 200cm long so want to make sure I have enough flow for my SPS...

I leave water to enter the weir from bottom/ top to ensure sufficient water flow into those areas....

Appreciate your advise? Thanks

If you could reverse the wavebox and pump so the wavebox was slightly more toward the middle that would be ideal. Your tank is very wide so having the wavebox all the way in the corner will reduce the effect.

Good point - will revised accordingly...meanwhile, Roger, would you recommended to used 2 x 6101 or 2 x 6201 for the pumps or one of each?? What's the difference?? Also would just 2 Tunze and 1 wavebox provided sufficient flow for tank this size for mainly SPS display??

Another questions: How low does the wier have to be from the edge of the tank? Would 3" be sufficient?

Thanks once again...

I think you only need the 6101's. The flow of each pump reaches 7ft but the 6101 has a 24" wide pattern and the 6201 is 30" wide.

Thanks Roger - I think I will go with 2 x 6201 for the wider flow (as my tank is 80cm wide) and also give me around 40 times turn over inside tank.

Can you advise, based on my set-up, what's the best setting for the wavebox and my 2 x 6201??

Also what's the level of my water from edge of my tank so I can finalized my wier...

Thanks once again...

The wavebox you simply tune the controller until you get a wave. For the Streams I would use Interval 1 or 2.

I would expect the wave to be about 1-1.5" tall so I would have at least 2" from the water surface to the edge of the tank.
