Just wanted to share and current picture of my T. giga.

He is currently on the order of 10 - 11 inches long, and about 6 or 7 wide when opened.

This first shot was taken the day I brought the clame home... Aug 24th 2005.

I want to put this picture up just so you can get and idea of how small it was at this time.... just a few inches long. The tank you see in this picture is a 15 gallon nano...

Needless to say that clam has gotten big...

Lookin good, I had one grow 6" in one year.

Here is a thread I saw that has a pic of the largest Gigas in captivity, just taken last week. The clam is over 3' long:eek2:

Yeah I think I have actually seen those photos before. The amazing thing about this is it grew to this size in that same 15 gallon nano. I only moved it about 2 weeks ago. I expect to see a lot more grow in the coming year. I may be stepping up my tank size yet again.

10 in. Gigas in a 15 gal. Nano; amazing indeed. Can't imagine that tank upkeep IRT elements they use (i.e. calcium). Great looking clam, congratulations.

Here is a rough idea what that would look like. It got a quite a bit larger that this still....

pic taken a few days ago. bought it from reefermadness in jan 07

I haven't been able to find a gigas at any of the stores I go to, but would love to get one to see it grow like these. Just wait till you need a 3 foot wide tank to house him!

I have seen any new Gigas in a while. A store around me has a huge 14" blue gigas that they have kept from a few years now but its way to big for my tank.

I am planning on getting a gigas in a couple of weeks. The lfs had one last week that was about 1.5'' long. All of your clams look very impressive guys.
