Hello Everyone, I have been working on this build for a little while now. I have a lot of the tank sorted. but still have a lot to work on.
Going to need some help from you guys on overflow designs and things like that so i figured i would show you all what I'm working with.

Its a 40 gallon breeder with a 20 long sump.
Tank will be laid out peninsula style with all my overflow and returns on the short end.
I will be building my own overflow box and either doing Herbie or Beananimal overflow design.
Tank will have a 24 LED Light that I'm building
Controlled with Reefkeeper
Skimmer in sump, small algae refugium. and return pump in sump
Might make it a media rack instead of refugium and have a small frag rack in sump. Still up in the air

Not sure what I'm missing or how to set the heights of the overflows but hopefully someone can help me out
Thanks for looking!

Hope you guys like.

thanks! i couldnt have done it without my friends help. im going to varnish it to match the woodwork in my house. its a light yellow pine color. not they best color but i want it to blend in. im not sure how well i can match the maple panels on the sides but i will try my best.

Looks good, I would like to do the same thing with a 40B just don't have a good place to put it.

i have a build in book shelve in a corner of my living room. so im using this to divide my living room, and the ''library'' so my wife can put a chase lounge to do some reading.

I can say that I love what I see so far, you do good work and based on what I'm seeing in your shop you are handy with your hands anyway.. (not everyone has a sandblast cabinet lol!)

I think this is a cool sized build, not often you see this size for a Peninsula style build. I assume you rocked out the $1/gallon sale for this build??

Following along :)

Hahah iced. It's all thanks to my friend he's the carpenter I'm a machinist that enjoys working with wood. I have some completed stand pictures. Will post in a little.

Base is done, well built. not stained or polyed.

tomorrow i will be building the back portion of tank and lighting arm.

Thanks for all the kind words!!

yes, thats what im thinking. was looking at it yesterday, not sure if i can drill 4 holes into that 18" piece of glass. might go with a herbie style overflow.

any ideas?

i have been running i modified bean for a couple years on my 40B, just used one hole for overflow and one for emergency, hasent given me any problems at all... let me see if i can dig up a pic

here is a pic of how i set up mine, the downturned elbow is the full siphon, and the uptirned one is the emergency.. has woreked like a charm for 2 years and been completly silent

Looks outstanding Turbo!

And Snakebyt, how does that work? I don't see how you can just have a full siphon going without anything else.

I love the look of the stand. I am in the middle of my (very slow progress) build and also went with a raised stand so I can wipe up water that gets below the stand.
