400 Gallon super tank, north of the border!

Congratulations on TOTM! That is quite an honor. It was educational reading your post concerning your tank.

Please forgive me if this sounds pedantic but thank you for your contribution to the hobby.

Awesome!

Awesome!

Congrats Brad!

What is so cool about your tank is the layout......looks just like the natural ledges here when diving. In the Gulf here we have a lot of sand, and little outcroppings of rock.

So, you are swimming along over sand, then there will be a huge outcropping of rock, with scattered pieces that have broken off during the eons....then more sand.....and more pieces of rock.

And on top of the ledges of rock, are where the gorgonians thrive, as yours are on the big rock. I think you have a most accurate rendition of what the Gulf of Mexico looks like underwater!

Excellent job!

PS 40 degrees here this morning.coldest day of the year so far.....lets go diving! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Thanks, Richard! Natural is the look I like.

When it came to placement of rock...I did have a plan, but when the rocks come they clearly had a top and bottom, so there's not much flexibility in their orientation.

After placement, you just have to leave it alone. Let things grow/survive where they want to...rather than where you might like them to. I lost a lot of the sponges that came with the rock, but I'm noticing new sponges have found places where the environment seems right for them.

Untamed,

Your thread was one of the first one's I read when I started this hobby. I really enjoyed it. I even printed parts of it out so I could read it when I had a break at work.

TBS is also an awesome company. I'm local, but found out about them through your thread.

Richard, when are we going diving? :D This is Mike the Navy guy from Orlando. It's warming up!

Summer!
