ATM tank 120x30 deepx 28 tall

1 3/8 reynolds aryclic walls 3/4 top and bottom

dual overflow

I got a hurricone 2 for my skimmer

A huge Ozotech ozone

4 luminarc reflectors 250w mh 14k bulbs
1 dual ballast
2 ice caps

Using a hammerhead for sump and circulation

thinking about getting 4 hydor Koralia magnum 8s and controller unsure if I need this much flow but my sps will love it

Korallin C-1502 Calcium Reactor (will upgrade to bigger size as coral grows in.

I will build a skin around the tank to and a large canopy to the ceiling ? what do ya think? unsure how high above tank lights need to be for best coverage.

tank will be bare bottom to limit sand blowing on corals and losing stuff when hermit crabs knock them over.


Been breeding cichlids for 25 years and just caught the reef bug thinking of turning 240gallon cichlid tank into sump resevior

moving 125 reef and 80 reef into big boy in about a week.

Temporarlly will use 2 60 gallon tanks

Planning or cutting all piping into garage and turning 10x 10 area into fish room to house pumps, skimmer, and sump.


I plan on venting hood with a fart fan to pull out mositure with motor in the garage to limit noise in the house.

1 more fart fan under tank where sumps and fans are.


I do not plan to use a chiller will have to design somthing to hold fans to cool water.

will get some more pics soon heading off to NY on tues for a week while tank cycles

JUst got back from atlantis marine world in NY

We are building tank room

put in 4 20 amp circuits with 10 plugs on 1 wall then another 4 on oppisite wall and anotehr 2 over sumps

ordered inline vent for canopy and fishroom


walls are 2x6 with r 19 thinking of putting poly sheet on wall with another 5R

and then plastic sheets on the walls is this necessary? If not I will have to tape joints and spray


attic was not insulated over garage fishroom so r 32

I hope you plan on putting some cross bracing on that stand, it's a disaster waiting to happen like it is. Othere than that it looks like you are off to a great start and I'll keep checking on your progress.
 
Thanks OkR33Fer. I was told by a few people the same thing that it aint going to hold and it will bow. THe stand is made from 2 inch tube steel 1/4 inch thick with only a 5 foot span to center support. I have seen several stands made out of wood that are shorter and taller. My tank is 10 foot x 30 inches. the weight should be evenly distribuated over the entire stand and we are only talking about 5000 pounds tops. If it was shorter say 8t and 3 feet i might have beefed it up. The wood skin will add support to the overall stand strength. I hate to loose the 5 foot opening but Most of my equipment is on the fishroom behind the stand.

moved water softner onto shelf next to water heater. still have to strap these down just incase of earthquake

they are in 2 five foot sections . Kinda sucks as the supports are in the middle What is a good protcetor so wate rdoes not damage seams of plywood?

plumbing is all going through the wall not going to use under the tank at all it seems

I have used several coats of clear polyurethane as a preventative/preservative. Nothing is perfect, but poly will slow down the effects of water... ;)

thanks I better do a few extra coats before I bring it in then. I was thinking of wiping silicone on the seam that is over the water what do ya think?
