40B lighting

I have a predominantly sps reef. Would two AI prime HDs along with either 2 or 4 bulb retrofit t5'a be enough lighting for them?

It would for the SPS that are in the area right under the AI Primes with 2-bulbs.

I would either do two AI Prime HD's with 4-Bulb T5's (2 T5's in front, 2 in back)

OR

If budget allows, two AI Hydra 26HD's with 2 T5 Bulbs.

OR

Just two Hydra 26HD's.


From past experience, I've ran two Hydra 26HD's on my 56 Gallon (roughly same dimensions as the 40B.. 36x18x19). This was an SPS dominant reef as well. I eventually added 3 T5 Bulbs which worked out perfectly.

Either way, whenever you get whatever AI lights, if you do.... PM me and I'll send you over the perfect profile for SPS. It's a mock profile of Ecotech Marine SPS AB+.

Sweet thank you I appreciate it...yes 98% of my corals would be directly under each fixture or in the case of most my acros in the overlapping areas of the two would be prime hds...plus 4 t5's
