40g/b: advice on landscaping and pump placement

So I have a 40 gallon breeder with a center overflow. I just got the 7095 with two 6055. I have a little of everything in my tank: fish, lps, sps. I have had Pink Tahitian Sand but could easily be talked into replacing this with a larger size grains.

A read a recommendation, point the pumps to create an X. I figure the landscaping should try not to get in the way.

I have more than 40# of rock and with the center overflow I figure I could do two tall formations on each side and run the 6055 from the side glass in the back creating a figure 8 with cross flow at the center.

My opion usually at default is one pump on each side pane 2/3 - 3/4 of the way back in the tank and a few inchs to 1/4 of the way down. then point them to blow across the tank angled to the opposite front corner to give the flow the most travel and so that the pumps intersect. I like interval 2(from memory) with one pump on each channel alternating the pumps from the 30% to a desired higher percentage

Thanks Shawn I will try that as soon as I get the broken Tunze working.
