40g SPS

Thanks everyone. He is myRadion apex fusion graph. It's a gen1 that I upgraded to a gen3. Basically, I am running it at 55% max now @ 20k for and 14k preset. Nothing special.

Nice tank! So you went from the g1 @80% to a g3 pro @25% ? I have the g3 pro and cant seem to get the intensity right. Could you please explain your spectrum and intensity? Thx

I started at 25% and worked my up to where I am now. I am currently working on raising the intensity for the entire day right now, so the graph here is a little off for the intensities, but the colors are still the same.

Looking great man.

Do you feel the additional spectrum in the Radion Pro has helped with the colours, ie has the colours on the Acropora improved over time? Or was it an immediate effect ie simply due to the Actinic/violet range of the LED's causing more fluorescence?

Honestly, I think it is more of an immediate effect that caused the colors in the acros to fluoresce more. The purples, blues, greens, and reds are noticeably more "vivid" or "sharp" is the best way I can describe it. However, I have noticed that some of my acros, mainly the pearlberry, have responded very well to the radion g3 upgrade, though I also stopped GFO and biopellets at the same time so this may also have something to do with it. It could be that there are some long-term shifts occurring that I have to do a lot of before/after comparisons to see.

I bought a par30 bulb and gooseneck off ebay to light a corner of my tank for my frag rack. I am hoping it blends well with the color I have the radion set to.

Thanks for the feedback. My buddy has a couple of Radion Pro's over his 300L tank. He is getting good results. IMO the Ecotech Radion Pro is one of the better pure LED lights out there at the moment.

Keep your thread updated, its good to see the excellent progress you are having.

Agreed 100%.

This would be the only choice for me if I went LED....if....

It's true. I have been toying around with the idea of using a T5HO/LED hybrid setup when I upgrade down the road. I have seen some cool tanks using the LEDs for power and the T5s to fill in the spectrum/provide more even dispersion of light. We shall see though.

Here are some shots I took this morning for y'all.

IMG_2717.jpg

I had to move the rainbow pocci away from the "edgar's acro"
IMG_2704.jpg

Notice that there is a little limpet or something that has grown into the green mille. I have just let it be because I kinda like it
IMG_2703.jpg

Group shot. These things are growing so big and starting to grow into each other!
IMG_2699.jpg

Nice angle on the red dragon. The main branches are getting pretty long. I had to trim it because it grew into the "edgar's acro"
IMG_2689.jpg

Check out how much the SSC has encrusted. Now I just need some tabling action from it!
IMG_2688.jpg

Palmer's Blue mille is almost encrusting off the plug.
IMG_2687.jpg

Pink Lemonade encrusting. I has put out about half an inch in the last 6 weeks since I got it.

Been following the thread, tank looks great.

Question - I may be setting up a cube a bit bigger, 28x28 or 30x30. How is the spread of the Radion over your 24x24 footprint? I have two Radion Pros, but don't know if I can get away with one if I do a bigger cube. I don't plan on packing the tank wall to wall, but I don't want my sps around the edges growing towards the center/light, so I'll run the two if I need to. Your thoughts?

Thanks

The radion will cover a 24x24 footprint, but I wouldn't sps near the edges. I have some birds nests and poccis at the 22-24'' line and they are not getting enough light.

Really awesome polyp extension. Some very happy acros there

Thanks man! I am going to do a final photo update before I head off to Peru for 7 weeks. I hope the tank makes it! Things are growing super fast now!

How is that pearlberry doing? My colony has grown probably an inch since I fragged your piece. Very nice color now.

A couple things browned out a little while I was in Peru for 7 weeks doing research, but I think my fiancé did a great job taking care of the tank for me.
