These pics are also in the large tanks forum, but I don't know how many people find their way over there.

I helped build and maintain this system for my good friend Vince. It's just too pretty for there not to be pictures out there of it.

The tank was ordered from SP Aquatics http://www.spaquatics.com/ and picked up in August of 08.

It's a 415 gallon DT with a full Calfo overflow. It has a 150 gal Rubbermaid fuge and a 150 gal Rubbermaid sump. It has a Hammerhead running for the return via 2 Sea Swirls, and another running a closed loop via Oceans Motion 8 way. There's a Reeflo Orca 250 and a 5' tall dual Beckett performing skimming duties. Lighting is 4x400w Radium 20K halides and 8x54w T5s.

Holy cow!! What an incredibly stunning tank!!!
Is it a completely new set up from August? Or was this a tank transfer. That is a lot of stock for being a 7 month old tank. Absolutely beautiful tank.

Awesome work, thanks for sharing.

It was originally a 10' long 650 that was running for ~10 years. That tank was broken down, and pieces were distributed amongst local reefers when the owner decided to get out of the hobby. A few months later, a 120 was put up, then a 220 and we set to work re-acquiring some of the corals, clams and fish that had been in the 650. Plans were put into place for this baby, and now a new tank has been ordered to make more room. Lots of work to get back where we started, huh

LOL, there's a crazy ammount of flow in that tank. 2 Hammerheads, 2 Tunze Waveboxes, 2 Tunze powerheads and 2 10 gallon surges.

I wish I had a better white ballance, or good PhotoShop skills to correct for the blue. The colors are super in person.

Plumbed a 60 gal acrylic frag tank into the system today. Sorry about the crappy cellphone pic.

that McDonald's cup really put it in perspective..

The whole environment looks fantastic.

I quit. I could never catch up... :)

There are a pair of blue jaw triggers in there. They're reef safe in that they don't mess with corals or clams, but will take out shrimp in a heartbeat. There are 3 skunk cleaners and a small army of peppermints that have learned to only come out after dark.
