Tom,
Had to redo the light rack a little.Going to go all the way around with the aluminum channel and recess the ballasts between the Lumenarcs. I just don't have the ceiling height other wise. Still need to skin the stand and light rack. I'm also going to do an internal coast to coast for the overflow.
Did you notice the upcoming skimmer change?:)

Looks good...

One question?? Why tunze, vortech, and closed loop???? Why not all powerheads and eliminated the energy hog of a closed loop or eliminate the look of powerheads and go all closed loop???

Not a knock nor do I have a preference....just curious...

It sure would be warranted.
Don't think the Mod's will let that happen unless I get a new I.D.

Got the acrylic for the overflow build today, should have light rack done in a week or so.
Still need good source for a retracable hanger that will cover the weight.

Got a few updates.

Internal wier completed.

Please don't mind the dirty tank glass in trhe background. :)

Some minor ones,Light rack skinned, some stuff moved around for new skimmer.Internal wier installed. Skimmer got here first Part of Dec.It came in Damaged and was shipped back on the 23rd.Waiting on replacement. Picked up some additional live rock, large pieces, for better aquascaping. Some other additional equip. I'll post some pics when I get a chance. Holidays, weather , etc. , Slowed things down.

Ok trying to get the flow thing figured out.
Do I want to use the closed loop or not?I'd love to use it for the return pump flow, worried about the failure of a check valve, if the power went out and draining the tank.
I have the following available.
2 wavebox
4 Tunze 6100's
1 Tunze 6200
1 tunnze 6080
2 vortech mpw 40
The tank is drilled with 6 - 3/4" holes in bottom back panel.
Open for/need suggestions.

Thanks,

Todd

Hey Todd,
i was just checking to see how thing are going?
(if you have a different build thread, could you PM or post it. i just didnt want to miss out)

good luck,
Cheers

Same thread. Things got stalled with the skimmer mishapses. Still waiting on those, hope it's soon.
I think I have all the other equipment. Only things I need to do, drain the old tank, move it. Move the new tank to it's place. House the livestock temp., Mount the external overflow. Really wanted to move the tank before I did this, but may do it before. Seems it need to take a week to cure.Hang the new light rack, mount the ballasts, run the plumbing.
Will take a little manpower to move the tanks around.
The new overflow will use the 2 bulkheads already in the sump and will need to use the third one, currenly being used for the skimmer feed pump. When that skimmer comes off line, I can plumb in the new system, whence the hold up on everything with the new skimmers.
Sent victor an e-mail today to try and find out an eta on the skimmers.

Hopefully some more progress soon. :).

Good news . :)
Heard from Victor, skimmers coming next week. Hope this jump starts some stuff.
