I dropped an endcap into the water (was not plugged in). I let it dry for a few hours, plugged the light back in, turned it on and it kicked my GFCI outlet. I let it dry overnight....same thing happened today. What is the cause for this?

I've never had an end cap issue but have blown out a ballast from a water spill on the ballast. The fuse blew out but so did the ballast never to work again until I sent it in for repair.
Trying plugging the lights into a non-GFCI outlet to see if the ballast works. If it works, try replacing the endcap to see if that solves the problem. The only way to be sure is to do a trial error thing.
