430 Icecap ballast tripping GFCI

I dropped an endcap into the water (was not plugged in). I let it dry for a few hours, plugged the light back in, turned it on and it kicked my GFCI outlet. I let it dry overnight....same thing happened today. What is the cause for this?

endcap or ballast? try rinsing it off with RO/DI water really good and then letting it dry...

end cap was dropped in the water, not the whole ballast.

The first blowout could have fried the ballast

Yikes!! I would hope the ballast's fuse would pop before the ballast blew out. What is the best way to test if the ballast is bad?

Trying plugging the lights into a non-GFCI outlet to see if the ballast works. If it works, try replacing the endcap to see if that solves the problem. The only way to be sure is to do a trial error thing.
