430gal., L-shaped display

Thanks, Gary! I think all of those last set were the Canon 100mm macro. I like it for fish photos, too, because it lets me stand a little farther back (though then there are problems with flash reflections) so the fish don't spook as much and it also let's me isolate the fish really well because the field-of-view isn't as wide as a small focal length would be. You have to use manual focus, though, because the autofocus is really slow.

What kind of cannon camera do you have again. I know you mentioned it ..Wow great pics. I didn't know frogspawn would do that. Real cool..

Here's a video of the male filefish doing a little courtship display:

Some FTSs for you. The algae has died back quite a bit and some sort of turf algae has taken over. Fortunately, it's still a species that the tangs like to eat and it's short.

what size sandbed do you have for the jawfish?

I would really like one but am not sure if my 2" sandbed will be enough....what do you think?

Thanks, y'all! Yeah, the flow is pretty good. I'm still trying to fine-tune it and any time I move anything I get a new sandstorm. That's what you're seeing there.

I wouldn't try jaws with that little sand unless you pile it into deeper areas. Mine have the choice of anywhere from an inch to probably eight inches depending on how it's flowed that day. They really like the old barnacles as homes, though. Maybe you could give them some sort of tube that went diagonally under your sandbed?

Frogspawn news: Looks like the little guy is hanging in there. The connective tissue separated a couple of days ago.

You got my vote!! This is an amazing build from all aspects, those of photography, planning, building, issue's that have come up, and educational to boot.
