The large adult is probably supermale already and the changing juvenile will remain female. The adult emperor is the boss of the tank he is very mean but its normal to show dominance to other fish.

I am torn about the crosshatch but I order 6" pair to fill the void.

That's how mine died Lawrence. One day eating, swimming and playing. The next morning ....dead!
