Update time!
Its been 2 months since setup and 1 month since the tank was up and running. Ive got lots of additions and not much at the same time. My plan now is to just sit back and watch things mature.....if I can....First, the lights. After spending around $70 on new t5 lights I decided to switch to leds. I was having problems with a few basic SPS corals and it may have been just intatience or water peramiters but only some sps stayed healthy wile others died. So needless to say I now have a light fixture with brand new t5 bulbs for sale ( pm if interested) This is my new setup as of today
I got an awesome Dragonet! and have successively trained my dragon to eat not just frozen foods but pellets as well. heres a few quick shots along with a random shot of some of my sps.
tried to catch her eating a frozen mysis
this was before my leds, just a really nice picture
I was having problems with some brown algea forming at the sand bed but thanks to EmeraldReef86 I was able to get that under control. I was also guilty of overfeeding to make sure my dragonet was eating well but shes okay now. What I am having problems with and cant figure out why is micro bubbles. I dont see any in the return section were my pump is but somehow im getting a small amount that come out of my outlet and stay in the top part of my tank. Any ideas?
Thank you copper and yes I have a mosquito net screen on the back and glass on the remaining. I'm thinking of switching off one of the glass panels for more neding just to help with evaporation, but we'll see. As for the articles, I did run into some from this forum and some people have some great ideas. My dragon was already doing well eating R.O.E so she was used to eating stuff that didn't run away so I cant take full credit, but with a bit of practice and patience while she was in quarantine she started to eat frozen foods, and pellets, so I'm glad to see shes a fast learner. Sorry to hear about yours going for a walk.
