The Fana Marin is only trace elements and a few other things. The Mag component is BRS bulk mix. SO you don't get Mag from the Fana Marin Elements. If i understand the Balling method with Tropic Marin you want to only doe the Tropic marin Alk component to begin with and use calcium and Mag from something other than Tropic marin's mixes. Then once you have obtained the level of ALk ( with tropic marin mix) and Calcium and Mag with another product you then start dosing all 3 Tropic Marin Components in equal parts. That is from what I understand the only was to do the balling method the correct way in dosing the 3 parts in equaly otherwise you will be chasing one of more of the parameters. I pretty sure there is a youtube video confirming what Im saying. There is also a good one detailing the different methods of Balling, Balling Light, and 2 part.

You are 100 percent absolutely correct about that. I will be using the bionic I have for calcium and mag then dose equal parts once dialed in. I'm going to shoot for 450 calcium 7.7 alk and 1300 mag.

Transfers some stuff over to the Biocube29 2 weeks ago, for break down of the RS350. Zoas high skirting will slowly raise my light intensity, just put some corals in today and don't want to fry them. Alk has been staying stable at 7.8 in cube29 if any body has a par meter I can barrow, that would be greatly appreciated!!!

Need to purchase a massive CUC still. Waiting on Aqua terra to get some snails in. Other than that I had purchased two cp40's to go along with the 2 pp 8's and mp10 this last week. Hooked up my apex finally and did some cord management to clean things up a bit

these bad boys got some flow. Curious to see how long they will last. Got a year warranty on both of them just in case

Today's testing.
Ca 430 (Red Sea Pro)
Alk 130ppm (Hanna)
No3 1.5 roughly in between 1ppm/2ppm color range (Red Sea pro)

Going to raise alk from the 7.2 dkh to 7.7dkh. Hanna has a .3 swing each way accuracy wise if I recall. so that will get me anywhere from 7.4-8dkh next step calculate daily consumption once dkh is where I'd like it. Then will introduce the balling method to dose from now on.

Keep us posted on how the parameters are after starting the balling method. Im also wondering if there is a calculator or reference on how much trop marin to dose when you switch to balling. Maybe ask Carlos I think he has about a 120 or so gallon tank. it would be a bummer to have the parameters change too much once you start balling.

For sure, I'm was planning on just starting out very slow. 1ml a day for 3 days, see where that gets me calculate the rise or drop up in a 180 gallon system, bump up then so on. My tank is young, and has a small amount of corals in it at the moment, so I won't be using very much ml a day at all. I'm not going to overstock the system rite away. It needs to mature, that's where I see a lot of mistakes in the hobby, people get impatient. They don't realize you can mess something up overnight but it will take many nights to correct it.

Per box, 125ml in 27 gallons of aquarium water will raise calcium 12.5 ppm and 1.75dkh.

As of today, mixed balling method 3 part salts, calibrated doser, installed in sump. The doser is just a jebao dp4 I had laying around, will look to upgrade soon. Going to start of with 10 ml of equal dosing obviously for 3 days and see where I'm at from there. Have been hand dosing 25ml a day of the b-ionic 2 part to keep Alk stable.

Good Call on starting out slow. I would test at least the alk every day to start with. Alk can move up and down pretty quickly. I tested daily for the first week when I started dosing just to make sure I wasn't off too much.
