4weeks Hypo

I have just completed 4 weeks of hyposalinity to treat ich. I have read in 6 weeks or 8weeks they can be returned to their tank. Can you please respond if you have successfully rid your tank of ich and how many weeks you kept the DT fishless. Thanks for your help.

In the summer when the temp is at mid 80's , six weeks total is not necessarily chancy, but I would go eight weeks total. I generally do eight weeks, and I am sure I have missed counts a few times and then just be sure do another two.

This is when there was no sign of ich to start.

I treated both my PBT and Achilles for six weeks each. That being said, temp does play a role, and there is no need to be in a hurry. 8 weeks will give you piece of mind.

Thanks guys, my son wants his own bedroom and my hypo tanks are in the way, I was hoping 6 so that I could give him his own room before school but I don't want my efforts to be wasted.

Marine Ich is not very sensitive to temperature changes. That is, increasing the temperature does not significantly decrease the life cycle time.

So you agree on 8wks? Also I see you have 2 sw tanks, nice to see as I am setting up a second tank and wanted to keep angels. Can you advise as to which angels get along and how many I could keep in a 180, thankyou.
