5.5 gallon flow

i have a 5.5 gallon i want to do a mixed tank. what is good for flow? the smaller the pump is in size the better for me. space is precious.

i currently have a hang on filter that does 125 gph and a prop pump that does 240 gph. i forget the brand name.
how do you guys feel about a mp10 plus the hob filter? i have 10 lbs of sand in the tank and plan on keeping mostly sps.

obviously an MP10 would be the best candidate. if thats in your price range then go for it.

id say that is over priced and over kill for a 5.5 get a maxi jet 1200 call it a day

Just keep it all external by slapping on the biggest HOB/s that will fit the back-plane. Inexpensive, reliable and can be used as a refugium if you desire.

MP10 takes up more tank than a HOB feed tube.

Would a mp10 be too much flow? I guess not because you could dial it to whatever you would like. What would be a good setting?
