5.56 225 Peninsula reboot

I’m supposed to weld up my stand tomorrow in costa mess but I can’t find anyone to help me take my bed cover off in the morning so I don’t have any way to get it back :(. My buddy with the welder doesnt have room to stor projects :(

I think I'll use roll on. Ive done spray on but my compressor is only 5HP and it's tough with a small compressor.

I have a nice compressor you can borrow in my garage. It is an industrial one and is portable. When u are ready to spray I can bring it over. Let me know if your interested.

I need to setup a spray booth then... that will be a project in and of itself... I might just do that.

Lots of work building a stand

First bevel and deburr all the edges

Almost done for the night, just need to seal the ends and install the gussets.

Leveling feet will be installed at home because I didn't pick them out yet :(. Dang, those things are expensive!

Mark,

It looks like you are an excellent welder. Is that what you do for a living or just for a hobby?

Also, I know you said you were having trouble with your tank, when you afe restarted, let me know, I will give you a few free frags to get you started again.

Oh no, I am anything but an excellent welder. I have about 600' of 20 year old steel fencline that I maintain with my harbor freight flux core welder. That's the extent of my experiance.

The welds all have good penitration but several of them are rather ugly. I found toward the end that part of my tequnique involved too much bend on the cable when running a bead uphill that resulted in inconsistent wirefeed. Once I figured that out, I was laying dimes uphill.

The 135 has turned the corner and is getting better, hopefully it is all straightened out by the time I'm ready to transfer to this thank.

IF it's a steel roof, no removable top, might be a very, very, veeeeeery rare Porsche
Fenders look flared; flat six?

I'm pulling my hair out trying to find someone to cut me a piece of 1/2" glass for a internal coast to coast overflow. I have found some online but it's ungodly expensive :( If I could just find some, I have someone who sould cut it for me but it's just one of those things.

Got my sump, ATO and refugium White PVC with red accents by AA. John does some amazing work! Friday I have some reefers (Charles, Doug and Steve) coming out to help me set the tank on the stand so I can start setting up the plumbing. I would welcome anyone else that could help out from 9:00-10:00 at the latest on Friday morning.

Looks like tank transfer will be mid January. I would love to get it done this year but I won’t have a double fishtank in my living room ongoing transfer for Christmas or the week leading up to Christmas.

That said, I should have all the parts to setup the new tank this week and a week of leak testing and I could have it done in 2 weeks... IDK

I finaly found a place to get the one piece of glass I need and that whole prosess was a giant PITA

I think I found another piece in the puzzle as to why my SPS have been doing so poorly. Yesterday, I wanted to finish laying out the plumbing on the new tank and needed the UV sterilizer. I pulled it from the 135 and began to clean it. What I found was the the inside of the tube, all the parts that recieved direct UV light had badly corroded. There was so much black plastic mush that my hand looked like I had stuck it in ink. I wonder if that could be the source of the high levels of tin in my ICP tests?

Looks like I’m getting this light from santa. I know it’s probably a bit more power than I need but it’s dimmable to 25,50,7 5 and 100% and it’s white and goes with my setup and it’s just about the same size as the light window in my refugium. I have some 1/2” clear acrylic rod. I plann on cutting legs from the rod and gluing them to the bottom the fixture so I can set it right on the refugium.

Mind telling us the brand of uv, so we know to stay away. BTW what was the purpose of the uv for your reef?

UV does a good job off making the water clear also it kill algae spore so prevent algae out break. As far as parasite u need a lot of UV light to be successful.

Starts with a J ends with an EBO

The purpose was to kill the evil Dino's and it did a great job of that with my strain. And when they came back, just flipped it back on and they were gone within a week. I think it would be fine for that sort of spot treatment but I left it running for 6 months.

That particular model was reccomended to me by a very well known reefer as having been used effectively by another very well known reefer for dino murdering. The latter well known reefer being famous and the former being infamous.
